In June Transform Leatherhead’s Claire House and James House redevelopment proposal obtained outline planning consent. The application considered the access, layout and scale of the redevelopment of the site off Bridge Street currently occupied by partly vacant 1970 office blocks.

Past Consultation

Between November 2018 and 3 January 2019 there was a statutory consultation on the outline application initially submitted.

Prior to that we held a public consultation on the first stage proposals for the redevelopment.

The online version of the first stage proposals were viewed hundreds of times and 89 people visited our exhibitions. We had feedback from 118 participants.

There was significant positive support for redevelopment of the building and for the creation of a riverside park. There were concerns, however over height, scale and parking.

The responses were considered by the design team who then refined the outline application before submission, reducing the number of units and the impact on the historic Running Horse pub.
